Oscillations and Waves CDROM has fifteen highly interactive teaching tools to address abstract concepts such as how a longitudinal wave moves and how an interference pattern is formed. You can alter variables instantly seeing changes in the physical model. For example, in the two source interference teaching tool (left) you can alter the slit spacing and wavelength and measure the interference fringe spacing. You can also print the screen diagram and measure the path distance between fringes on paper.

Each teaching tool is supplemented with printable explanations and tasks which involve analysing data exported from the model and the tasks have detailed solutions which are password protected to control access. This makes Oscillations and Waves an effective teaching resource which is suitable for both demonstration and independent study.
